The Haverford Partnership for Economic Development is a partnership between Haverford Township, business and property owners and Township residents.
HPED fosters economic growth in Haverford Township by supporting local businesses in a variety of ways, promoting Haverford Township as a destination, hosting events such as Moonlight Dining on the Boulevard and the Haverford Home & Garden Show, and revitalizing our business districts and public spaces.
The winners of our 2020 Holiday Display Contest have been announced!
First and second place awards are made in each of five categories.
In the “Most Beautiful Window” category the first-place winner is Brew Your Own Beer at 2020 Darby road. Second place is Bead Garden at 2122 Darby Road.
In the “Most Creative Window” category the winner is The Kelly Center at 4-6 E. Eagle Road in the Oakmont Village business district. Judge Chris Kelly shared her enthusiasm: “Missed the Macy’s parade? Look no further that The Kelly Center for a uniquely colorful and creative take on the event, right here in Havertown. Thanks for the holiday cheer!” In second place is Havertown Bicycle at 2030 Darby Road.
Perennial winner, Renee’ James Boutique at 10 E. Eagle Road, comes in first place in the category of “Most Effective Marketing.” Second place goes to In the Fringe at 1308 Edgewood Road.
The winner in the “Most Whimsical Display” category is the office of Steve Clott, CPA at 2024 Darby Road. Judge Don Kelly observed: “What an entertaining surprise to see holiday nutcrackers fill the windows of Steve Clott, CPA. The whimsical windows are cleverly carried through inside as well with the theme of a “What a nutty 2020.” Second place goes to Wicked Cuts at 2333 W. Darby Road.
The fifth category is ‘Most Beautiful Façade”. The winner is Faust Orthodontists at 1635 Darby Road. Said judge Rudi Miller: "Faust Orthodontists went above and beyond this year, brilliantly lighting up a very prominent corner of Darby Rd. for all to see. Not only is the building and its shrubbery beautifully done up with lights, but the little park area next to it is also charmingly decorated and lit. It's all quite lovely." The second-place winner is Burke’s Inn at 25 E. Eagle Road with its tasteful blending of lights and ornamentation.
The winner of the People's Choice Award is the Bead Garden with 477 of the 877 votes! Second place is Steve Clott, CPA and third place is Havertown Bicycle Shop!
