In addition to our rich history, Haverford Township is a vibrant community that is open to new ideas. Over the past 25 years we have had an influx of new residents who are higher-income, college-educated professionals -- moving here or returning home to raise their families.
Haverford Township has emerged with renewed energy
and an updated look.
The development of Haverford Reserve in 2010 was a major accomplishment in the renewal of the Township. With a new Leeds Gold Community Recreation and Environmental Center, playing fields, our all-accessible Freedom Playground, a dog park, and miles of wooded walking trails, it exemplifies the changes that have occurred in the past two decades.
Our new municipal and police building was completed in 2017 and renovations and an expansion to our library have been approved by the township and will be completed in 2024.
Many new civic groups have formed which have enhanced the beauty of the Township by planting trees, clearing trails, transforming parks, and planting new gardens.
Cultural opportunities in the Township have also mushroomed in the past ten years. The Haverford Heritage Festival was created in 2006. Our weekly Oakmont Farmer’s Market was established in 2008, and the Haverford Guild of Craftsmen formed in 2009. The Haverford Music Festival was organized in 2010, and the Haverford Home & Garden Show was launched in 2018.
