A former board member, Jeanne has been employed part-time by Discover Haverford/HPED since 2016. She grew up near Buffalo, NY but has lived in Haverford Township for over 30 years, raising three boys with her husband Sam. She has a BA from Earlham College and a Masters in Social Service Management from Bryn Mawr College. Jeanne has been very active in the civic life of Haverford Township. She was on the board of the Llanerch Civic Association for 15 years, serving as president for seven years. She was co-chair of the Llanerch Crossing Park Committee, and served on the leadership team for the Task Force for Business Revitalization. Jeanne is co-founder and coordinator of the Haverford Tree Tenders program. She has served on the Haverford Township Civic Council board for the past 12 years and is editor of their Informed Citizen's Network Newsletter.
Sarah has worked at Discover Haverford since July 2022. She has a BA and MA in English and Publishing from Rosemont College, and brings a background in program development, event planning and publishing. She works 26 hours per week, assisting with our projects and programs, fundraising, volunteer management, communications, and office management. Sarah lives in Chatham Park with her husband and three children. She sits on the executive council for the Penfield Civic Association and is an online small business owner for the past 8 years.
Discover Haverford welcomes our newest staff member Lynn Fitzgerald. Lynn has a BA in Communications from Rutgers University and brings a background in customer service, project management, and event planning. She works 24 hours per week, assisting with our projects and programs, fundraising, volunteer engagement, communications, and office management. Lynn has been a resident of Haverford Township since 1995 and raised two children here.

Jon has lived in Haverford Township for almost 25 years. He has contributed to the Citizen’s Task Force for Economic Revitalization, was Vice President on the HPED Board of Directors during its first four years and has participated in the Haverford Alliance for Drug Awareness. He obtained his BSc from McGill, MA and PhD degrees from the University of British Columbia, served as Psychiatry faculty at Hahnemann and UPenn Medical Schools and held medical communications roles at area publications agencies and pharmaceutical companies. He recently retired from his latest role as Global Head of BioPharmaceutical Publications at AstraZeneca and now does part time consulting work in pharmaceutical communications. He currently lives in Havertown with his wife Lorraine.
Derek lives in Havertown with his wife Lindsay, and their three sons, Carter, Lincoln, and Paxton. He has worked in the financial services industry for more than 17 years, and is currently a financial advisor with Edward Jones, serving the wealth management needs of individuals, families, and small business owners in the community. Raised in Darby, she lived in Springfield and Clifton Heights before settling in Havertown where she and her husband raised three children, all attending Haverford Township schools. He was an Adjunct Professor at Eastern University and Penn State Brandywine in urban planning, economic development, public policy and community revitalization. He has served on the Haverford Township Civic Council board for the past 20 years, and was president for four. In 2005, Don led the effort to organize the Citizens Task Force for Business Revitalization, and has been on the Discover Haverford/HPED board since 2009 and served as board president for several years. He is co-founder of Haverford Green which maintains the Triangle Garden in Oakmont. Don and his wife Christine live in the Merwood section of Havertown.

Angelo is a lifetime resident of Haverford Township and is a retired civil engineer/surveyor, having most recently served as Vice-President of Engineering for the firm of Chester Valley Engineers, located in Paoli, PA. Angelo graduated from Villanova University in 1971 and lives in the Brookline section of Haverford Township with his wife Lynda. They have four grown children; Matt, Mike, Beth and Tim.
Angelo is a 17-year member of the Township’s Planning Commission, currently serving as its Chairman. He also served on the Steering Committee for the new Township Municipal Building and also serves on the Steering Committee for the update to the Township’s Comprehensive Plan.
Colette Bannan is the administrative coordinator for the music department at Swarthmore College.
Most recently she was the executive director of the Merion Community Association that serves the Merion Tribute House and the Levering Mill Tribute House. She has also served as the Executive Director of the Ardmore Business District Authority and has extensive background in land use, small business development, grant writing, fundraising, and marketing and PR. Colette has a Master of City Planning degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She grew up in Ardmore and has lived in Haverford Township for 20 years where she raised two children. Colette returns to the Discover Haverford Board after having served from 2009 - 2019.
Having graduated from Hahnemann University, Melissa has had a long career working as a microbiologist at Paco Pharmaceuticals and Teva Pharmaceuticals. Melissa built and ran Fresh Start Cleaning Services for ten years before founding M&D CleanStart at the beginning of the pandemic. As a small business owner, Melissa will bring her expertise in problem-solving, customer service, data collection, and analysis to our team.
